The Concept of WELLNESS



What is Wellness?? It is the combination of Physical Fitness,Nutrition and metal well-being.

It is like planting a seed, you need water,sunlight and good soil for the seed to grow into a plant.Without any of the elements the plant would not grow and sustain.

Lets talk about the 3 aspects of Wellness :

1.Physical fitness :It is any form of physical activity that helps you increase your physical ability.That would include going to the gym and working out or any form of sports that you play. 

2.Nutrition: It is the fuel for the body to perform any kind of activity.It is very essential as you need the right sources of food in appropriate quantities at the right time.Without Proper nutrition the body would not be able to carry out the functions it is meant to do.It is similar to a car, you cant expect a car to function efficiently with out fuel or oil no matter how  good the make or the quality of the car is.

3.Mental health : the most neglected aspect of Wellness that people dont pay heed to. Our body has certain hormones that also play a very important role in wellness. In today's world most of the  people face stress due to various reasons, as a result resort to many other ways to overcome stress. The right frame of mind and thought is essential for the overall well-being. 

All the above elements go hand in hand when it comes to Wellness. People today only follow one or two of the above elements and think thats enough. Thats when they dont get ideal results or no results at all and give up at some point. Thus is it highly necessary to focus on all the aspects.

Some people are obese, they binge when they are stressed and when they finally see health concerns they head to a doctor who recommends them to go hit the gym. At the gym they do their best but still see no result as they do not focus on all the 3 elements.When they see no results they give up. 
The concept of mental well-being comes into place and the concept of wellness helps find the exact root of the problem. The stress they face can be due to various reasons, mostly with issues that happened in the past. Those issues still persist if not addressed.
Wellness helps addressing those issues and helps reducing the element of stress along with proper physical activity and Nutrition.

Now coming to what i do as a wellness consultant is i focus on all 3 aspects while training my clients. When i first meet a client i take a good amount of time counselling and trying to figure out their goals,their history,etc so that i know everything about them before i formulate a plan for them.At times it might take time for them to open up but eventually they do. My plan for them focuses on all the aspects of wellness and helps them get results in a short span of time.

Thus i would conclude it is very important to focus on your health right now rather than later. Today's world is filled with Stress, negativity,all sorts of illness etc so its better for us to do our bit to keep fit and most importantly well. 

As you grow older there are very few things you would do for yourself, you keep giving and giving be it work or family. The only thing u can receive and do for yourself and be selfish about is your health.

Being fit is the ability to do day to day tasks without assistance 20-30 years down the line.
